This recipe is great if you’re looking to expand your menu or a inside date night.
Ingredients for chicken marinade
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3-4 Garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp salt
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 chopped onions
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 garam masala
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
Preparation
In a large bowl mix together the ingredients for marinade for chicken. Let sit in fridge for 2 hours to over night. Please note the longer it marinades the more tender it will be.
Let’s cook!
In a large pot, heat oil on medium to high heat. Once hot, add chicken. Cook roughly 2 minutes on each side then set aside.
In the same pan, add the butter and onions, cook until soft and transparent. Add garlic and ginger then sauté for about a 30 seconds. Next add turmeric, coriander, cumin, and garam masala fry until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce and seasoning with salt to your liking. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the mixture thickens. Add chicken and heavy cream then cook for an additional 10 minutes.
