So if you’re like me you’ve seen peasant bread taking all over social media so here is my take on this bread recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp Instant yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- Shredded Parmesan cheese
Optional Seasoning
Rosemary, Basil, Thyme, Oregano and Garlic powder.
In A large mixing bowl mix together flour salt sugar yeast and water till a sticky dough forms (If adding herbs add now) .
Cover and set aside for an hour and a half in a warm place to rise.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
Using a spatula deflate the dough by releasing it from the sides of bowl and transfer to a bread pan or medium sized casserole dish.
Cation
Do not skip lining the bottom with parchment paper you will thank me later.
Leave dough uncovered for 20 minutes to rise then transfer to oven.
Cook at 425F for 15 minutes then reduce heat to 375F sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese and cook for an extra 30 minutes.
