Growing up I remember looking up to my grandparents and the pure love they had for each other and just how beautiful the respect they had for one another was. One day I walked on over to my Grandpa who was sitting in his light blue rocking chair reading the funnies in the latest news paper and asked “Grandpa, why do you love Grandma so much?”. My Grandpa laughed as smile crept onto his face and said “Well Mija your Grandma loves me prays for me for our children and she loves God more than me, she is a beautiful example of love” and when I heard that my little 5 year old brain was blown Grandma loved God more than Grandpa but how?! I asked in utter disbelief wondering how he could love her if she loved God more and then he sat me down and said “I love God more than I love Grandma too because God teaches me how to love her how to be gentle and be kind. Gods love is perfect without flaw it is unrelenting. I want to love Grandma like that and her I that’s why we love God first in our lives and someday you’ll love God so you can love your husband in the future and him you”. Those words have stuck with me for all these years and couldn’t have been more true. Another thing that I hold tight to is how I was taught to pray verses over my loved ones and today I will be sharing with you verses to pray over you Partner/Spouse.
