Ingredients
3 tbsp butter
1 chilli (of your preferred spice tolerance) I used one green chilli for this
1 onion
6 garlic cloves
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tomato
1 tsp cumin
1 cup yellow lentils (yellow split peas)
4 cups water (or two cups water two cups stock)
1 Tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 Tsp salt
2 curry leaves
Instructions
Rinse and soak lentils for 1 hour then drain and set aside.
Chop all the vegetables and melt the butter in a medium sized sauce pan.
Add the veggies to pan and cook over medium high heat. Once the veggies are nice soft and fragrant add in all your spices and let them cook for about a minute.
Add water then lentils and let that simmer for one hour covered.
Once that hours up to can either eat this as a soup or blend it for a nice and mild curry sauce I personally love to top this with fresh cilantro and I know many others do too so try it💕 As always I hope you enjoyed this recipe and feel free to comment what you’d like to see next!
